One of the disadvantages of watch phones, that makes people not like the idea is the size of the actual devices, which makes them uncomfortable to use and lack big in terms of design, plus the small screen size which makes a big difference. Those problems may be resolved in the future by using flexible organic displays to get a thin watch cellphone with a big enough display to be of actual use. ROTH, a Japanese company, presented such prototype bracelets during CEATEC this year and they seem very promising.

Organic flexible display might be the answer for watch phones
The displays are powered by thin lithium batteries, to keep size down. Price and availability are unknown, as the products presented are in prototype stage for now, but we’re eager to find out more about them. Here’s a short video about how flexible organic displays work in real life.
