Kempler & Strauss W Phone Watch review and photo gallery

It’s not the first time and probably not the last when we will talk about the Kempler & Strauss W Phone Watch mainly because it’s a nice blend of tech and design in a small package for the geeky person that wants to be the early adopter of the watch phone madness. Guys at Crunchgear managed to get their hands on a Kempler & Strauss W Phone Watch and wrote a short review, which we’ll discuss here in this post.

They admit from start that this is not a replacement for a regular mobile phone, but it’s something really nice to have if you’re a tech passionate and that’s what matters most. From pros we have to mention the way it looks, build quality which is better than most Chinese watch phones out there, and the included Bluetooth headphone which is great if you don’t want to look silly talking to your hand.

There are also cons for Kempler & Strauss W Phone Watch, the most notable being the size of the screen, really small for normal touch interaction, the number of accessories that you have to carry with you (which defies the purpose of having a small watch phone) and the battery life that means you’ll have to charge the watch every day if you use it normally (intense usage pattern should make it last even less). The digital camera (VGA resolution) is not the best either and couple that with the video recording which is done at 128 x104 pixels and you have the clear picture (or not).

All those being said Kempler & Strauss did a great job at building the first unlocked watch phone that’s worth buying because of the good mix of features and design, all in a 199$ package. Enjoy the small photo gallery below with some pictures done by Crunchgear.
