Watch phones seem like a far away feasible concept, as they have too many limitations to become mainstream plus prices are not so user friendly compared to low end and mainstream cell phones. This made me think of how a watch cellphone should look like and perform to have a chance of becoming “an ordinary” gadget. What I came up with was the following list of features future watch phones must implement and perform to be considered perfect:

- it should be small, watch size and weight like (not the smallest models tough), after all it’s not like Buying A Pocket Watch
- it should have some kind of a flexible screen to increase the size of the visible area, the one which interacts with the user. Alternatively it could have a projector that puts the watch interface on any flat surface
- all touch interface for easy interaction. Also a thumb optimized version is a must, to keep that stylus where it belongs: in the pocket
- good battery life because it’s annoying to charge the watch every day
- good connectivity options to make integration easier to other gadgets and to make possible streaming down of data to the phone from Internet or other peripheral gadgets
- it should be able to perform like a portable GPS system
- a good price tag
- a nice OS with a good API so that anyone could develop applications for a watch phone
